Blackwood Duke Freebase E-Liquid 30mL

Blackwood Duke Freebase E-Liquid 30mL

Duke is a full-bodied Virginia tobacco cured with aged spice, with earthy and herbal notes underneath — the strongest, driest flavour Blackwood makes, here as a 65/35 freebase for tanks and mouth-to-lung devices. $18.99 for 30mL at UniVape, which is 63 cents per mL and the lowest federal-rate price on Blackwood freebase in Canada. Stocked in 3mg, 6mg and 18mg. The full range is on the Blackwood freebase collection.

The flavour

Virginia tobacco is the brighter, slightly hay-like leaf, and at full body it reads here as a robust, substantial tobacco rather than a light one. The aged spice sits over the top, and underneath there is a genuine earthy, herbal note — closer to pipe tobacco than to a cigarette. Nothing sweetens it. A tank suits this flavour particularly well, because the extra vapour brings out the herbal depth that gets lost in a small pod. Pick it if Black Diamond felt thin and Double Barrel felt too sweet; it is also the most divisive of the five, since a dry herbal tobacco is not what most people expect from a vape.

Nearest in the line is Double Barrel, comparably full-bodied but sweet rather than dry. Black Diamond is the light version of the same idea and Royal Oak the most flavoured. For a pod, buy the salt nic version at 20mg instead.

How it compares

At $18.99 for 30mL, this is 63 cents per mL. Canadian retailers pricing at the federal excise rate sell Blackwood freebase at $19.95 to $21.95, rising to $26.99 and beyond where the provincial stamp applies, so this is the cheapest Blackwood freebase in the country. On our own shelf it undercuts Kapow freebase 30mL at 67 cents per mL, though Kapow's 60mL bottle at 58 cents remains the cheapest liquid per mL we sell. Against the salt version of this flavour at 83 cents per mL, the freebase is the cheaper route if you have a tank for it.

Who it suits and picking a strength

This is a 65/35 freebase, so a refillable tank or a mouth-to-lung device rather than a small low-power pod. We hold 3mg, 6mg and 18mg in this flavour — there is no 12mg at present, so if that is the gap you want, ask us and we will tell you what we can bring in. As a rule, 3mg suits a sub-ohm tank at higher wattage, 6mg sits in the middle, and 18mg is strictly for low-power MTL setups with a tight draw.

We carry the hardware: the SMOK TFV18 sub-ohm tank with its mesh coils, the Vaporesso GEN MAX 220W box mod to run it on, and 80W pod kits that take sub-ohm mesh coils — the SMOK Nord 6 and the SMOK IPX 80. For 18mg on a tight draw, a Uwell Caliburn G5 is the better match.
