Geek Bar Pulse X vs Pulse X 2: What Changed and Which One Should You Buy? (2026)

For most people, the Geek Bar Pulse X 2 100K. It costs $1 more than the Pulse X 25K ($38.99 against $37.99 at UniVape), holds the same 20mL of the same 20mg/mL nicotine salt, and changes four things under the shell: the rating goes from 25,000 puffs to 100,000, the battery from 700mAh to 1000mAh with fast charging, the coil to a 0.6Ω dual vertical mesh with Geek Bar's upgraded VPU chip, and the 3D curved screen gains an animated interface and light strips. Buy the Pulse X instead if the flavour you want is one of the twelve it has that the X 2 does not — the citrus and sour side, Grapefruit Ice, Winter Berry Ice — or if it is the device you already know and a dollar matters. The honest caveat is in the puff numbers: both tanks are 20mL, so the X 2's longer life rests on its coil and chip, not on more e-liquid, and the real gap is smaller than four to one.

Both are Geek Bar Pulse-series disposables: 20mL, 20mg/mL, Regular and Pulse modes on a slider under the device, adjustable airflow, a 3D curved screen, USB-C charging, sealed and draw-activated. Everything else is different, so here is the full comparison: the Geek Bar Pulse X 25K and the Geek Bar Pulse X 2 100K side by side.

What changed: the four upgrades

The rating. 25,000 puffs became 100,000 in Regular Mode from the same 20mL tank — 1,250 rated puffs per mL on the Pulse X, 5,000 on the X 2. Geek Bar puts the whole of that gain on the new coil and chip, which it says waste less e-liquid per draw. More on what that means in practice below.

The battery. 700mAh became 1000mAh, and the X 2 moves to a higher-voltage cell with USB-C fast charging: about 80% in 20 minutes from a 2A charger. The Pulse X charges over USB-C too, but Geek Bar makes no fast-charge claim for it. This is the upgrade you feel every day — fewer charges, and short ones.

The coil and the chip. The Pulse X runs a dual mesh coil with Geek Bar's VPU, the chip that manages power and e-liquid flow. The X 2 runs a 0.6Ω dual vertical mesh coil with an upgraded VPU. The practical claims are steadier flavour as the tank drops and less e-liquid lost between draws; the rating above is the number Geek Bar attaches to them.

The screen. Both are 3D curved screens showing battery, e-liquid and the active mode. The X 2 adds the Galaxy Cascade interface — an animation that changes with the mode — a Stardot screen film, and Binary Halo light strips either side that react when you draw and when you charge. Cosmetic, but it is the most visible difference in the hand, and the X 2 uses the Pulse 2 80K's shell rather than the Pulse X's.

What did not change: 20mL, 20mg/mL, the Regular/Pulse slider on the base, the adjustable airflow, USB-C, a sealed non-refillable tank, and a body that fits a jeans pocket.

Price and value

A dollar apart up front: $37.99 against $38.99. Per mL the Pulse X is the cheaper device by five cents, about $1.90 against $1.95, because it is the same 20mL for a dollar less. Per rated puff the X 2 wins by four to one: about 39 cents per 1,000 puffs against $1.52. Which number is right for you depends on whether the X 2 actually stretches its 20mL further — if it lasts even a third longer than the Pulse X did for you, it is the cheaper device to own: twelve Pulse X in a year is $455.88, nine X 2 is $350.91. Three of either clear the $100 free-shipping line. If the number that matters is the sticker, the Geek Bar Pulse 2 is the same 20mL tank and the same sixteen flavours for $34.99, with an 800mAh battery.

Puffs and how long each one lasts

Both puff counts are lab figures from short, machine-measured draws, so treat them as a ratio rather than a promise — and here the ratio needs a second look. On e-liquid, which is what actually runs out, the two devices are identical: 20mL each. The X 2's 100,000 against the Pulse X's 25,000 means Geek Bar rates the new coil and chip to use a quarter of the e-liquid per draw, not that there is more e-liquid to use. For reference, the US version of the Pulse X 2 (18mL, 50mg/mL) is rated at 50,000 puffs. So: expect the X 2 to outlast the Pulse X, and to need fewer charges while it does, but buy it for longer, not for four times longer. For a typical user the Pulse X is a two-to-three-week device; the X 2 should go past that. Pulse Mode changes the maths on both — the Pulse X is rated 15,000 in Pulse against 25,000 in Regular, and Geek Bar publishes no Pulse figure for the Canadian X 2; on the ratio of its other Pulse devices, expect roughly half the Regular rating. Run either on Regular through the day and save Pulse for when you want the harder hit. Our guide to making a disposable last longer covers the rest.

Battery and charging

The plainest win for the X 2: 1000mAh against 700mAh, and a fast-charge spec the Pulse X does not have — about 80% in 20 minutes on a 2A USB-C charger. Both show the battery on screen, both use the cable that charges your phone, and on both the battery outlives the e-liquid: you will recharge either several times before the tank is empty, so the question is how often and for how long, and the X 2 wins on both. Charge before the cell is flat rather than after — a flat battery mid-tank is the commonest way to waste a disposable.

Modes: Regular and Pulse on both

Nothing to relearn. Both devices have the same two modes, set with the slider on the base: Regular for the everyday draw and the full rated count, Pulse for a warmer, denser, harder hit that uses e-liquid and battery faster. On the X 2 the same slider also sets the airflow. If Pulse is new to you, our Pulse Mode explainer covers what it does and when to use it; it is written for the STLTH x Geek Bar 80K but the mode works the same way here.

Screen and lights

Both tell you the two things that matter — battery and e-liquid — so neither dies without warning, and both show which mode you are in. The X 2's screen runs the Galaxy Cascade interface, an animation that shifts when you switch modes, behind a Stardot film, with Binary Halo light strips on either side that light up when you draw and while it charges. The Pulse X's screen is the plainer original: the same information, no animation, no light strips.

Flavours

21 live on the Pulse X at UniVape, 16 on the X 2, and nine of them are on both: Banana Ice, Blue Razz, Cherry Blast Ice, Coconut Ice, Juicy Peach Ice, Miami Mint, Pineapple Lime Ice, Watermelon Ice and White Grape Ice. Blue Razz is the one no-ice flavour on either device.

Only on the Pulse X 2: Blue Razz Ice, Green Apple Ice, Ice Blast (straight menthol, no fruit), Peach Watermelon Ice, Pink Lemon Ice, Strawberry Kiwi Ice and Tropical Mango Ice. Only on the Pulse X: the citrus and sour side the X 2 dropped — Citrus Smash Ice, Grapefruit Ice, Lime Berry Orange Ice, Raspberry Citrus Ice, Tropical Orange Ice, Sour Blue Ice — plus Winter Berry Ice, Apple Kiwi Ice, Mango Pineapple Ice, Peach Berry Lime Ice, Strawberry Twist Ice and Strawnana Orange Ice.

What people buy: neither line has sold enough online at UniVape for a ranking of its own to mean anything, but across the Geek Bar range the consistent movers are Miami Mint, Blue Razz Ice, Watermelon Ice and Banana Ice — three of the four are on both devices, and Blue Razz Ice is on the X 2 only. If one of the Pulse X's citrus or sour flavours is yours, nothing on the X 2 replaces it.

Which one should you buy?

Buy the Geek Bar Pulse X 2 100K if you vape daily and want the longest-rated Geek Bar, the biggest battery and the fastest charge in the Pulse line, the new screen, or one of its seven own flavours — Blue Razz Ice and Ice Blast above all. Buy the Geek Bar Pulse X 25K if the flavour you want is on its citrus or sour side, you want the dollar back, or it is simply the device you already like. If you are weighing the X 2 against the Pulse 2 instead, the X 2 is the Pulse 2 with a bigger battery, a new coil and chip and the 100K rating for $4 more; our older Pulse 2 vs Pulse X comparison covers that pair. Want more e-liquid rather than a higher rating? The STLTH x Geek Bar 80K is 30mL for $39.99, and the longest-lasting disposables in Canada guide compares the X 2 with the Kraze Giga 150K, Allo Nuud 200K and Oxbar G100K.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Geek Bar Pulse X 2 the same as the Pulse X?

No. The Pulse X 2 100K is the successor to the Pulse X 25K. Both hold 20mL of 20mg/mL nicotine salt and both have Regular and Pulse modes, adjustable airflow and a 3D curved screen, but the X 2 is rated for 100,000 puffs against 25,000, carries a 1000mAh fast-charging battery against 700mAh, uses a new 0.6Ω dual vertical mesh coil with Geek Bar's upgraded VPU chip, and uses the Pulse 2 80K's shell. At UniVape the Pulse X is $37.99 and the Pulse X 2 is $38.99.

What changed from the Pulse X to the Pulse X 2?

Four things: the rated puff count went from 25,000 to 100,000 in Regular Mode, the battery from 700mAh to 1000mAh with USB-C fast charging (about 80% in 20 minutes on a 2A charger), the coil to a 0.6Ω dual vertical mesh paired with an upgraded VPU chip, and the 3D curved screen gained the Galaxy Cascade animation and Binary Halo light strips. The 20mL tank, the 20mg/mL nicotine, the Regular/Pulse slider on the base and the adjustable airflow are unchanged.

Which lasts longer, the Geek Bar Pulse X or the Pulse X 2?

The Pulse X 2 — on rating by a wide margin (100,000 puffs against 25,000) and on battery (1000mAh against 700mAh). Both tanks hold the same 20mL, so the extra life comes from the new coil and chip using less e-liquid per draw, not from more e-liquid. Expect the X 2 to outlast the Pulse X and to need fewer charges while it does; do not expect four times the life.

Is the Pulse X 2 really four times the Pulse X?

On paper. Both ratings are lab figures from short machine draws, and both devices hold the same 20mL. Geek Bar's ratio is four to one because the X 2's coil and chip are rated to use a quarter of the e-liquid per draw. For reference, the US version of the Pulse X 2 (18mL, 50mg/mL) is rated at 50,000 puffs. Treat 100,000 as a ratio against the Pulse X's 25,000, not a count you will reach.

Which is cheaper, the Pulse X or the Pulse X 2?

Up front and per mL, the Pulse X: $37.99 against $38.99 at UniVape, about $1.90 per mL against $1.95, because it is the same 20mL for a dollar less. Per rated puff, the Pulse X 2 by four to one: about 39 cents per 1,000 puffs against $1.52. If the X 2 lasts even a third longer for you than the Pulse X did, it is the cheaper device to own over a year.

Does the Geek Bar Pulse X 2 have Pulse Mode?

Yes. Both devices have Regular and Pulse modes, switched with the slider on the base. Pulse opens the airflow and raises the output for a warmer, denser draw and uses e-liquid and battery faster. The Pulse X is rated 15,000 puffs in Pulse Mode; Geek Bar publishes no Pulse figure for the Canadian Pulse X 2 — on the ratio of its other Pulse devices, expect roughly half the Regular rating.

Which has more flavours, the Pulse X or the Pulse X 2?

The Pulse X, with 21 live at UniVape against 16 for the Pulse X 2. Nine are on both: Banana Ice, Blue Razz, Cherry Blast Ice, Coconut Ice, Juicy Peach Ice, Miami Mint, Pineapple Lime Ice, Watermelon Ice and White Grape Ice. Only the Pulse X 2 has Blue Razz Ice, Green Apple Ice, Ice Blast, Peach Watermelon Ice, Pink Lemon Ice, Strawberry Kiwi Ice and Tropical Mango Ice. Only the Pulse X has the citrus and sour side: Citrus Smash Ice, Grapefruit Ice, Lime Berry Orange Ice, Raspberry Citrus Ice, Tropical Orange Ice, Sour Blue Ice, Winter Berry Ice and five more.

Is the Pulse X 2 the same as the Geek Bar Pulse 2?

Close. The Pulse X 2 100K uses the Pulse 2 80K's shell, 20mL tank and sixteen-flavour list, and adds the 1000mAh fast-charging battery, the new coil and VPU chip, the 3D curved screen with its light strips and the 100,000-puff rating. The Pulse 2 has an 800mAh battery, a full screen and an 80,000-puff rating for $34.99 at UniVape; the Pulse X 2 is $38.99.
